Write-It, Do-It

Lego Blocks will be used for all Write It Do It events at the 2010 NJ State Tournament. Regionals may use other materials.

Write It, Do It - Tips for Coaching

1. Use some type of scheme to help describe positions of materials in the device such as the face of a clock. This works well with center of clock being center of device being described by the Writer. Use “map directions”, North being the highest point of the device and South being the lowest.

2. The Writer could also describe what the device looks like; an airplane with symmetrical sides, a boat shape, canoe shape, a rectangle, square, house, etc.

3. The Writer must have clear writing or printing.

4. The Writer needs to be as descriptive as time allows.

5. The two, the Writer and the Doer, need to practice as a team and determine which team member is best in which role.
